Suevite specimen from the Ries impact event, collected from a suevite deposit that is part of the ejecta blanket about 4 km east of the crater rim. Suevite is a rock type that consists of larger angular target rock fragments surrounded by a matrix of smaller fragments and grains that have been melted and recrystallised due to pressures caused by the impact.
